Overview

Boavista is a great destination for surfing all year. About 100 meters south of the center there is a small reef with perfect waves for learning and progressing. Between the port and the islet there is Leao, a long and powerful wave. For the tow-in lovers English reef is the perfect spot with waves reaching up to 5-6 meters. Praia de Chaves, with its sand and rock backgrounds has good waves for all kinds of surfers.

There are other places with very good waves around the island of Boavista, between 30 minutes to 2 hours drive from the city.

We do surf safaris to these places in a 4x4  pick-up to reach the most difficult to access and find the perfect waves. The island of Boavista has a wide range of surf spots with waves for beginners or professionals depending on your level and the weather conditions.
